The U Street Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC1B) and the DC Department of General Services is hosting a public meeting on the future of the Frank D. Reeves Center at 14th and U Streets. From the ANC1B website:

"The Department of General Services (DGS) will host a public meeting on the proposed disposition of the Frank D. Reeves Municipal Center (“Reeves Center”) located at 2000 14th Street, NW. The meeting will be held on the first floor of the Reeves Center. The District of Columbia proposes to dispose of the Reeves Center in connection with the assemblage of land to construct a soccer stadium at Buzzard Point in Southwest, DC.  As part of this process, DGS is undertaking a process to analyze potential impacts related to the proposed disposition and redevelopment of the Reeves Center site. The process will also identify mitigation strategies to minimize these impacts."

The Dupont Circle Advisory Neighborhood Commission is meeting this Wednesday December 11th at 7:00 p.m. at the Brookings Institution. Our draft agenda is available here.

Some highlights from the mercifully short December agenda include:

1.       Historic review of a proposal to redevelop 1442 T St – an abandoned row house whose power was last turned on in 1982. The house will remain a single-family home and will add a third story not visible from the across the street or down the block.

2.       Alcohol license renewal application for DC Noodles at 1410 U St. The popular restaurant recently reopened (and expanded!) after being closed during Louis at 14 construction. Check them out here.

3.       Second review of a proposed project at 1618 Q St that will take a single-family home and convert it to seven studios and 1 bedrooms. The project has received a lot of negative attention because of their plans to demolish significant parts of a historic structure. We’ll review new altered plans on Wednesday.

Our monthly public meeting occurs on the second Wednesday of each month at the Brookings Institution, 1775 Massachusetts Ave NW.
