Dupont Circle is truly a victim of its own success as this month we are hearing six public space applications, four historic preservation applications, one zoning variance and one alcohol license application, in addition to agenda items on public transit and our commission bylaws.
Unfortunately, we couldn't fit all of these items into three hours and so our Chair has called a special meeting to handle the overflow. The ANC meetings will be:
Wednesday February 12 at 7pm
Monday February 17 at 7pm
(click the dates for their agendas)
Of note this month for 2B09: an application for a new liquor license for Tico, moving into the Louis building at 14th and U. This American and Latin restaurant will have 150 seats and will be open for lunch, brunch and dinner. I welcome their concept and atmosphere to the neighborhood and have no problem with their occupancy, layout or hours requested. My only concern may be noise for the yet-to-move-in residents of the Louis who will live directly above the restaurant. I think that conversations with the restaurant, building management and the ANC could easily relieve those concerns.
If tonight's meeting is cancelled due to weather, we will get as far as we can on Monday the 17th and go from there. Check back here and on twitter and facebook for updates on weather.
Our regular monthly meetings take place at the Brookings Institution - 1775 Massachusetts Ave.
