Thank you!
I am honored and humbled by the turnout of support in yesterday’s election and I’m so excited to continue serving our neighborhood for two more years as its Commissioner.
We were successful in the campaign because we stood by our values of collaboration and reasonable compromise for our neighborhood; we stayed positive, we focused on the future, and we respected the varying needs of residents. In addition, I had a fantastic team of volunteers who talked to their neighbors about voting, stood on street corners to chat with residents, and were consistently present at the polls on election day.

I learned an incredible amount during the campaign from my neighbors. Through hundreds of conversations I had with neighbors over the last two months, I better understand the passion that folks have for improving our community and making sure that it is livable for all kinds of residents. I also learned about what I can improve on as your Commissioner for the next two years. Many people didn’t know what the ANC is or how it impacts them; I need to do a better job of engaging our neighborhood so everyone knows they have an advocate in the area. I also know that the policy issues I’ve focused on in the last two years aren’t always the top priorities of each one of you. A renewed focus on implementing comprehensive parking reforms will be a priority – something my challenger, Ed, had good ideas about.
In talking to neighbors closer to 14th Street, I now appreciate even more the regular disruptions they face from late night noise and the visitors our neighborhood serves. I am committed to protecting residents from those disruptions as much as possible and to continue to build a congenial yet firm relationship with the business owners in our neighborhood.
I have already accomplished my original goals for running for ANC Commissioner: to meet more of my neighbors, feel a sense of belonging in my neighborhood, and have a positive impact on the place I call home. With your help, I’m excited to continue that success for another two years.
Cheers,
Noah
